Instructions

Play through this interactive game to learn about Use Rate Of 100 To Find Percent. Suitable for Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8.

Main Concepts

Ratios are expressed as “for each” and “per”
Percent means per 100. Percent is a ratio of part compared to 100.
The value of a ratio may be expressed as a decimal, percent, fraction, or mixed number.
To find the percent of a number multiply that number by p/100 where p is the percent (what is 25% of 50? 25/100 x 50 = 12.5).
Solve for the whole given a part and the percent by cross multiplying and dividing. (45 is 90% of what number? 45/90 = x/100, 45 x 100 = 90x, 4500/90 = 50)
Solve for the part given a whole and the percent by cross multiplying and dividing. (60% is what number of 30?)
