Main Concepts

Compose and decompose multi-digit numbers using expanded form and alternatives (i.e. 746 can be decomposed by place value as 700 + 40 + 6. It can also be decomposed as 700 + 46, 600 + 146, 500 + 246, 699 + 56, etc).

Read and write multi-digit whole numbers in word form and standard form.

Compare two numbers by closely looking at place value, (Which number is greater 3,245 or 3,425? 3,425 because the digit in the thousands place is the same but the number in the hundreds place is greater).

After converting between expanded form, number names and numerals, compare numbers based on place value.
